Early parenting centres expansion
The Victorian Government is investing $135 million to expand the early parenting centres network and improve access for all Victorian families.
Early parenting centres provide help and support for families with children (0-4 years) who have difficulties establishing early childhood routines such as sleep, settling and feeding, as well as services to support parental wellbeing and family relationships.
This investment will more than triple Victoria’s service capacity and provide much needed support to more than 5,000 additional families each year.
The expansion project includes new early parenting centres in the growing areas of Frankston, Casey, Wyndham and Whittlesea. In regional Victoria, centres will be established in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.
The project also includes the upgrade of existing early parenting centres in Footscray (Tweddle Child and Family Health Service) and Noble Park (The Queen Elizabeth Centre).
Families and communities are being consulted as part of the project, to ensure that the new and upgraded centres meet community needs and are well integrated with other child and family services.
The expansion project is set to be completed by 2024.
