New ambulance branches open in Broadford and Swan Bay

27 November 2019

Victorian communities and visitors will receive improved emergency care with the opening of two new ambulance branches in Mitchell Shire and the Bellarine Peninsula.

The Victorian Government has committed $181.8 million for Ambulance Victoria Capital Projects since 2015-16, reinforcing a strong commitment to providing modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation for paramedics.

Broadford’s first ever ambulance station

Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes joined local paramedics and community members to open the new station in Broadford. Premier Andrews said, ‘Broadford’s new paramedics deserve the very best station so they can deliver the very best care when it’s needed most. That’s what we promised and that’s what we’ve delivered.’

Located on Hamilton Street, the branch features:

  • a four-bay garage for ambulances
  • areas for hard-working paramedics to rest and recuperate
  • state-of-the-art training facilities
  • a fully fitted kitchen
  • improved security and car parking to keep our paramedics safe.

A new ambulance branch at Swan Bay

The Swan Bay ambulance branch is the first branch for the eastern side of the Bellarine Peninsula.

Located on Swan Bay Road between Queenscliff and St Leonards, paramedics are now well placed to swiftly respond to emergencies across the Bellarine Peninsula.

The purpose-built branch includes:

  • four dedicated ambulance response bays
  • state-of-the-art training facilities
  • rest and recline rooms
  • a fully fitted kitchen
  • improved security and car parking to keep our paramedics safe.
